The Master of Urbanism and Spatial Planning (MaUSP) is a design-oriented programme. Each semester students will participate in design studio. In the final semester students can choose between a design studio that turns into a thesis, or a proposed own topic (home country or other). KUL consists of a large network of international relations allowing for good exchange of knowledge.


Students have to choose from a wide variety of studios:

Studio HH: NS / EW  Limburg (Belgium), urban design studio

Studio Alternative Futures for the Antwerp Airport (Belgium), participatory planning studio

Spring 2018 studios (academic year 2017-2018):

Socio-Ecological Urbanisms + Climate Change - Yangtze River Delta  (China).

Socio-Ecological Urbanisms + Climate Change - Zambeze (Mozambique)

Socio-Ecological Urbanisms + Climate Change - Guayaquil (Ecuador)
